Ukrainian Contemporary Photography. Alternative and beyond - Lecture by Jura Golik (EN)

During the lecture, there will be a brief overview of non-conforming photography in late Soviet times. Moreover, we will be talking about Ukrainian art of the independence era, the appearance of UPHA (Ukrainian photo alternative), and the main topics in UA photography. Lector – Jura Golik, art manager, curator, and artist from Kharkiv, Ukraine. In 2020 – 2024 he studied History and Theory of Arts at Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts. Jura researches Ukrainian art of the Independence era (since 1991), Kharkiv School of Photography, and Christian and Accent Greece symbolism and iconography in contemporary art.
