With Rock Machine, La Femme continues to develop an unfashionable, multidimensional universe with its own sound and aesthetic. The first single, Ciao Paris, is a metaphorical farewell to France, with its nod to 60s YéYé pop sprinkled with electro-surf. On Clover Paradise, the band invites us onto a dark, hypnotic dancefloor. Love Is Over is a haunting new-wave ballad reminiscent of the Madchester bands of the 90s who played at the Hacienda. Venus is an irresistible, intoxicating encounter between the Velvet Underground and The Mamas and the Papas.
